Cliftonville v Colraine - 21/12/19

I have wanted to photograph a local league game in Belfast for a few years and while over visiting family for Christmas this year I was able to cover Cliftonville’s home game against Colraine.

It was my first trip to Solitude and straight away I loved the ground straight way as it reminded me of the McCain Stadium Scarborough’s old ground. Solitude is situated at the end of a row of terraced houses with floodlights jutting into the sky and the back of the old main stand facing you as you walk down the narrow street.

The game was a good and close contest with some feisty moments thrown in but in the end Cliftonville came out on top with a 1-0 win and went 2nd in the league.

Thanks to Cliftonville Fc for having and to the fans and staff i spoke to for making me feel welcome, I will definitely be checking their results each weekend now.
